This new job thing is stressing me out + 5 interesting facts about me

This week I'll be starting my new job. On September 1st, to be specific. And a lot of things have been going though my mind. I still have the same concerns that I had a month ago. But I guess it's normal right?

I don't know what to expect. And I've have to admit I'm pretty scared!
Anyway, today I have to go to the office to pick up my key-card, my new pc and the access to intranet.  And I guess they are going to have some sort of game so I can get to know my new colleagues or whatever, because they asked me for 5 intersiting facts about myself. And I had no idea what to say. I mean, I know I am a pretty interesting person,  but having to come up with 5 super interesting things about my self is kinda hard and weird. And I don't want to be disappointing. Imagine the people reading my 5 facts going "wow she call these interesting?!". I want to make a good impression on these people! And these are the 5 facts I was able to come up with:

1. I rode an elephant in Thailand
2. I was offered a job at Disneyland Paris but unfortunately I had to trun it down
3. I used to do figure skating
4.When I was younger,  I wanted to be a scientist
5. I have stopped bitting my nails, and I'm super proud of that!

Do you think these are interesting enough for a first impression? You guys have no idea how nervous I'm. I really don't a wanna mess this up but at the same time I'm still not sure if this the right route for me.

Productivity Killeres at home and how to overcome them! | Luma Wifi

I hate working from home. I don't know exactly why but I can never ever really focus from home. I can't even work on my blog! And I've always been like this. When I was in college, I used to go to campus to study every day. And thank god my university has a few rooms that are open 24h for the students to go study and work, otherwise I don't know how I would be able to finish it. I spent so many nights there! And even today, I go to the office on weekends that I need to work. Or to Starbucks. I work better at Starbucks than at home!

And since Back to School Season is just around the corner -- can you believe summer is almost over?! -- I've decided to try and round up everything that I've found to be a productivity killer from my home and I tried to come up with some solutions for them!

1- Messy Desk

My desk, at home, is always messy. I mean, I have bills, junk mail, cords, products, old notes, and even cloths, on top of my desk And just the thought of having to clean up, clear some space, put everything where it belongs... Just kills my -- not that big in the fist place --  willpower. I'm sure this happens to you a lot too.
This has a very simple solution --  I need to be more careful where I leave my stuff. It is important to put everything in its rightful place right away. My mom always tried to teach me this. I guess she was right after all.

2- Food

Okey, I have to admit that food is one of the biggest distractions that I have at home. It just makes me waste so much time. Cooking, and cleaning up. Then I'm hungry again, I go to the fridge, than the pantry. I can't find any snack. I decided to go to the store, I buy a bunch of junk food. And the whole afternoon has just passed by.
This problem is something I've already dealt with, and this has been working super well for me. I've been buying food that I can cook that don't need to much supervision. I really like thinks that I can just stuck in my oven, like fish sticks or something like that. And I eat it with some salad. No mess at all, and just one dish to wash. As for the mid-afternoon snacks, I buy individually packed oatmeal cookies, and I buy just enough to last me one week. And I only eat one. Because If eat more than one, I won't have it for the next day. And I try to feel my self up with water and tea.

3- TV-Shows

Some people have a problems restraining their-selves from social media, I have a problem restraining my self from watching 10 seasons of a tv-show in a weekend. And I have no solution for this. I just can't allow myself to start watching any new TV-show if I have things to!

4- Slow Wifi

This is the thing -- I mean THE THING -- that annoys me the most in life. If I'm working from home, and I need to submit a file or access something from our cloud, and if the internet is not cooperating... OMG this just annoys me so much and makes me want to break my computer in half!
Solution: Luma Surround Wifi! This is the best wifi system I've every seen. It's the best! It helps you create your home network, showing you where you should place the routers to have an optimized network, so you can have super strong signal in all your rooms! The system is composed by 3 routers that you position throughout your house. You can control the system using an app on your phone, and the routers themselves are just super cute! It is a bit expensive, but I honestly think it's wort it. I would love to have this system on my home! You should definitely check it out! The routers really look like a piece of decor! Amazing and functional!

Can you work/study from home or are you just like me? And if you can, what is your secret?

I thought I had lost my trusty beauty blender. I'd look for it every where. Turns out, it was in my closet under a woven chest/basket! My poor beauty blender, it was completely smashed!
I soaked it in some water and he immediately restored his shape (thank god!)

Inbox |

Yesterday I've received this box with a few goodies from This is another Asian-type store, that sells a huge variety of products, including cheap awesome cloths!

I haven't really used any of this products, but my first impression is that everything looks really nice. The quality is not bad at all. The bikini feels really nice but unfortunately it is a little too small for me (the panties are really small, but the top fits me really well. I ordered an M). But I love the pattern and the shape so much!

The watch, is OK.The bracelet doesn't look to shaggy. The only negative comment I have is the writing on the inside that does not appear in the picture on their website! And I don't like this letters on the inside, and for me makes the watch look like a cheap watch.

But the pièce de résistance is really the top. I am really obsessed with this top. I love the colors, the fabric is just super soft and flowy. It really looks -- and feels -- super expensive, no joke. I know I'm going to wear this top for work all the time! It came with a tag that shows how much it could be sold for. But it was super cheap -- like 5 or 6 euros! And because of this, it has sold out completely on the website! This is why I love this store. You can find really nice stuff, for a really small price! You should definitely check it out.

Braces | Week #39 Update + Painful Elastics!!

I know I haven't made any updates on this for a few months. But the truth is nothing as really changed and I feel like these are not  very popular posts here on the blog. Anyway, my doctor has been doing something messing around, trying to make everything fit, She pulls my teeth to one side, then she pulls them to the other side. Besides the ocasional pain, there's nothing exciting or remarking to tell you.

But today was appointment day. The doctor was supper hipped today -- she said that she was super happy with how my teeth are moving and that everything looks nice! Then she gave me elastics to connect my top an bottom braces, you know? The type of elastics that barely allow my mouth to open. I'm supposed to wear them 24h, everyday -- I can only take them out to eat and brush my teeth! But OMG, they hurt so bad. I had my appointment in the morning, and I just wasn't able to do anything productive all day because of the pain. It's really painful. I feel like my jaw is being pulled forward and the muscles on my jaw are just super tight. But I guess these elastics are good news right? I mean, usually people get them at the end of their treatment, like as the last phase of the process. Right? Right? Please tel me that this is almost over....!

UPDATE: Sleeping with the elastics is just horribly painful. I couldn't sleep at all. I only fell asleep when I took out the elastics because I could't bear them any more. It was such a immediate relief and I felt a sleep right away. And I only slept for 3 hours because, you know, I had to go to work.

Review | L'ORÉAL PARIS Casting Sunkiss Tropical

Do you remember when I tried out the L'Oreal Casting Sunkiss Jelly  and I said I didn't like it?
Well... I decided to give the product another go, but this time I tried the spray-on version.
And this one I really liked!

This is basically the same product as the Sunkiss jelly, except for the fact that it is a much more fluid formula, and that it comes in a spray bottle. For me, this really seals the deal. I mean, it is way easier to apply and way less messy. It's perfect for beach days. You can just spray it on your hair, and just enjoy the sun while this product softly lightens your hair, giving you that beautiful sunkissed look. It's not going to make you blond! On me, it only generated some very natural looking red-ish highlights on my my brown hair. It doesn't even show on camera, but in person is really nice.

I have to say, the smell is a bit awful. It smells like oxygen peroxide which is in fact the main active substance in this product. It does not make your hair stink, but after you apply it, you get a funky chemical smell in the air.

The direct sunlight really helps making this product work. I have to warn you tho, you will run out of product super fast. My little bottle lasted me 5 days, but this will depend, of course, on your usage, on you hair thickness, etc.  And another thing -- this makes the hair super soft and smooth!

I have already bought another bottle and I think I'll continue to use it throughout the summer because I really enjoyed the results! I If you haven't tried it, you definetly should!

Oh, and I've also used it on my arms to help lighting my arm hairs and it worked perfectly!

A Casual Vacancy // JK Rowling

My whole life is in English, I speak English every day, I work in English, I even think in English. So I felt the need to something that I've not done in a long time: to read a book in Portuguese

The English version of this book is titled as "A casual Vacancy", an expression that in Portuguese really has no meaningful translation -- maybe "Vaga Acidental". But I have to admit that the title given to the Portuguese version ("A Sudden Dead") is actually very appropriate -- better than the original in my opinion. And if you've read the book, I think you'd agree. Specially because how the book ends. It's sad and it broke my heart. I loved this book! I couldn't put it down for a second. The way Rowling writes, really makes me connect with the caracteres. It's the same when I was reading Harry Potter. I always feel like I know those people.

Throughout the book there are some really messed up situations. But the end is really rough and completely unexpected. It gets to a point where you think that from there it can't get any worse. You are expecting a turning point, where everything gets better. But that doesn't really happen. There's no happy ending in this book. This is definitely not a kids book. This is harsh, and it makes me so sad to think that all the issues addressed in this story, actually happen! The book describes situations from the world that we live in. After reading this, I understand why JK Rowling created the Harry Potter world, full of magic and wonder. A place to escape.

How to become Jasmine

Last time I made a post like this I had such a nice feedback that I've decided to do another one!
To be honest, I really like to see this type of things. I love Disney and everything about it, and to think about how wound the caracteres look like if they were living among us is really fun! For Jasmine, I chose a flowy blue dress, some flat sandals with some golden details, and some cool accessories! And I would totally wear this look!

Quick Tip #2 | Scrub it off

Scrubbing your armpits will help you keep odores at bay, because it removes the dead skin cells that my accommodate bacteria. And yep, it's bacteria that causes bad odores.

Keeping your armpits hair-free also helps.

INBOX | Embelleze Portugal

I've recently became one of the new bloggers ambassadors of Embelleze Portugal
I'm so happy and excited to be apart of this team! I've never tried any of their products but I've heard and read so many good reviews that I'm just dying to try them out!

They've sent me, for me to try out, the Novex Pra Bombar Hydrating Mask! It is supposed to promote and accelerate hair growth!  It is a hair mask, but you can also use it as conditioner! I am going to try it out and I'll make an official review about it! But really quickly I can tell you that it smells really nice, it is a really huge bottle (1kg!!) and it is fairly cheap for this amount of product.

This time I actually need your help. I don't use these type of products very often. So I am not sure how to use it. The box doesn't have any real instruction, but I've found some on the website. But I'm not sure what is the best! If you've tried this, let me know in the comments what worked best for you -- using it as a conditioner, as a mask, or a combination of both?

I've found a new job, but...

I don't mean to brag, I know that a lot of you are looking for jobs and having trouble finding it.

I'll be starting a new job in September. And so many things are going thought my mind I don't even know how to express them. I'll be working for a HUGE company, I mean really huge. I am going to have a ton os perks that I didn't had before, like free gym or health insurance. It new functions, doing something completely different from what I've been doing, that I've never done before. I should be super excited right?
As I write this post, I'm heading to my future office to sign a no term contract. This means that if I want I can work there for the rest of my days. But I need to stay there for at least two and a half years. It's good! I mean, it's great! And I know a lot of people that are so desperate to get a job thay they would kill for this opportunity. This means financial security!
But I have so many doubts in my head. What if I don't like the poeple or the job?  What if I suck at it? I don't want to be miserable for the next two years, working day and night, and not be happy about what I am doing.
I have given a lot of thought into this. And I know I have to take this opportunity. But I am so afraid of the unknown! That's what scares me the most. Not knowing what the future holds and having to commit to it for the next two and a half years.

What do you guys think? What would you do?
