Rewind 2015

I wanted to make a summary post of all that was going on in the blog and in my life in 2015.
I started this blog on July 1st, because I was feeling lost. I had a huge huge project in hands ad I was feeling the need to let somethings out, express myself more. You know that feeling, like when you have so much to do, so much going on and you just want to escape to another dimension? That was exactly what I was feeling. Anyway. Since then so much has changed.
This blog, and this community has become really important to me. I love getting to know all of you and to have a place to share whatever I want and whatever is going on in my life. I feel like all the bloggers that follow me are just like my friends and I take your opinion and advises very seriously! I truly enjoy being here with all of you!

The blog grew a lot, and it keeps growing and for me that is super exciting! I am so amazed that so many people read all the crazy things I have to say!

Thank you for being here for me in 2015 and I hope that 2016 will be even better! :)

Braces | Week #5 Update

Overall, everything is exactly the same from last week.

However, Christmas is NOT a good season from someone with braces. I am eating sugary things all the time, and this means I have to go brush my teeth all the freaking time!! It's so annoying! And food is always getting stuck. And when I am in like social events and Christmas parties am always always always worried if i have stuff in my teeth.

The other day, I had a meeting and I was already in the elevator, literally almost getting to the place of the meeting and I noticed that I had a piece of food stuck right between my front teeth..! I had to run to the bathroom and brush and floss to get it. This is definitely the worst part of having braces.

What Really Grinds My Gears | Unrespectful people

People are so unrespectful with others. It is not the first time this -- or something like this --  happens to me. I was walking on the sidewalk and a lady that was walking in front of me trows her cigarette to the floor. Like to her back. In my direction. And she hit my pants with a cigarette, that was on! And of course it made a small mark on my expensive pants... And of course I had to tell her! And she was very ashamed and said sorry a million times. The little mark came off, but still, people think that they are alone in the world. They don't care about others. And this annoys me so so much!

PEOPLE, you don't live alone in the world! Please respect your neighbors and the other people on the street! Thanks

My Week #11 | Christmas Madness

Christmas week is always chaotic. Yep. Work is always a chaos this time of the year. I wish I had taken a picture of my desk at my office to show how crazy was last week. Anyway, some how I've found a way to finish all my Christmas shopping. Most of the stuff and ordered online but I sill had to go the mall and deal with the massive amount of people shopping -- which I hate!! But at least I got to see the pretty, and cute decorations.

I bought and send a Secret Christmas Gift to Lucie B. from the blog Teorias d'ela! It was this little box filled with nice smelling stuff, for her to pamper her self :) I hope she liked it!

This has been my latest addiction. I find myself eating this all the time. This yogurt with smarties. It's so yummy. I eat it as a snack, as dessert, even for breakfast! Yumms!

And my latest food adventure. My friends love H3 burgers. And they convinced me to try it out. I ate the new Carbonara burger. And it was ok. The rice is super good. The chips are super crunchy and the egg was perfect. The meat was ok, and the sauce was ok. I don't really like meat. I don't frequently eat it. I liked it but at the same time I didn't. I know it doesn't make since. lol But yeah.

Do you like H3 burgers? Which one is your favorite? And which one do you think should I try next?

And this was all for my week.
I hope your week was more exciting and full of nice Christmacy adventures !
Let's see how the last week of the year goes! :)

What I Got For Christmas | 2015

When you depend on your parents, Christmas is way different then when you are self-sufficient. You probably wait for this time of the year to ask things that you wouldn't get normally. But since I buy whatever I want and need -- when I want and need -- I don't really have anything to ask for. At least I can never think of anything that to ask. I buy my self gifts around Christmas, and if you follow my blog you know that in the last week I've bought some really nice stuff -- HERE and HERE.

Anyway. This year I feel like I actually got stuff that are truly going to be useful to me. And this doesn't happen every year!

I got a super cute lunch box! I take my own lunch to work very often and this lunch box has just the perfect size for me! It is supper bright and adorable! It came with two food containers, one squared and one shaped like a cylinder -- probably for drinks or soup --  but I got the feeling that they don't seal very well. I have to test them to see if they spill or not.

Other thing that I has super excited to get was an armband for my phone! I love to run and I have been wanting one of this things for such a long time! I gonna use it a lot. I was super excited to get this! I've also received these piggy earbuds! They are so so adorable! I've tried them out, and the sound is pretty good!

And of course: Ferrero Rocher! These heavenly made Nutella filled spheres are a staple in my Christmas gifts. It's not Christmas if I don't get one of this boxes. And I have to admit, they are almost gone!

The last thing I got was some AvonCare Glycerin Hand & Nail Cream. I've never tried this one before. It is scented and I usually don't like hand-creams with smells, but the this one is very subtil. It doesn't bother me. I'll keep using it for a while, and I'll make a review about it.

This is it!
I hope you had a nice Christmas and that Santa brought you everything you asked for! :)

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens | Review -- NO SPOILERS

December 23th instead of going to finish my Christmas shopping I went to see the new Star Wars movie! It was a spare of the moment kinda of decision... I passed by the movie theater, there were 20 minutes left for the movie to start and there were still tickets available so I just went.
I want to give my opinion but I promise I won't make any spoilers! I red online that in a movie theater in the US, some guy yelled a huge huge spoiler and some other guys kicked his ass soo much, they beat him up really bad. And now I understand why people did that lol

From your comments here on the blog, I noticed that most of you don't really like Star Wars. But if you like movies at all, you HAVE to see the Star Wars series. Really!

The movie is awesome, OK? Really awesome! If you are thinking about going to see it, just a little advice try, to remember the Skywalker family tree before going, or it is very likely that you'll start thinking about that in the middle of the movie!

I was afraid that the movie was going to be too Disney-like. And yeah... there are a couple of moments there were you get the "Disney-vibe" But overall, awesome awesome! The "Big scene" in the movie is very very very good but at the same time, for me a bit disappointing.
And the big light saber fight was also very good. The sound and special effects were awesome!

I don't like the actor they chose for Kylo Ren. I think he is too young. And I also didn't really like how his character developed. After all he is the bad guy and he was supposed to be the "new" Darth Vader.  But that's my personal opinion and that doesn't ruin the movie at all!
My favorite part was the space battle! I always love that :D
And it was awesome to see once again Leia, Han-Solo, Luke, R2-D2, and C-3PO! Princess Leia -- or should I say General Laia -- she looks old. But you know, Carrie Fisher is 59 soo... From the three she was the one that made really think "oh she is old". And she changed her hair. I think this was such a nice touch. A more mature hair-style for a more mature Laia, but still keeping the essence of the character. Loved it.
Oh, and BB-8 is so  cute! OMG I totally want one now! So adorable!

I love JJ Abrams -- he is actually one of my favorite producers! I was stoke when I found out that he was directing episode VII! -- and I think that he did a really great job!

Sorry if this was super vague but I don't want to give anything out!
Let me know in the comments if you have seen the movie, or if you are thinking about going! Did you liked it? What was your favorite scene?

Stuck In My Head | Under Cover of Darkness

I few years ago, I got really drunk one night and started to cry because I couldn't marry Julian Casablancas. I think deep down in my heart he is the love of my life. And he loves me too. I know. We are soul mates. He just needs to see me somewhere and he'll feel it to.
Please Julian, bae, give me motivation to go back to work.

Get dressed, jump out of bed and do it best.
Are you OK?
I've been out around this town
Everybody's singing the same song for ten years.

Braces | Week #4 Update

One month has almost past!
And last week I broke a bracket! It's not actually broken, it's just loose or unattached. The glue came off. So the bracket is turned upside down and just held by the elastics. It's in one of the molares so, no one sees it. It doesn't bother me at all. So I don't think I need to go have it replaced. Or should I? She'll do it in my next appointment. Apart from that, not much changed.

I don't know if it is normal, or not, but my teeth still hurt. And they are still moving. The differences from day one are huge. And every day I see diferences! And this makes up for all the discomfort! I just hope I'll love the final result! That is something that really concerns me...

Planner 2016 | Tips to stay organised

Today I wanted to share with you my super cute planner that I've bought for 2016 and also some tips to stay organised and focused when you have a lot of things going on.

Isn't it cute? It's from MakeNotes. Check their website -- they have super cute stuff!
It's like an A6 size which is just the right size for me. I also like the fact that is has a plastic cover, and that's because I always stick some post it notes to the inside of the cover-- or even use sticky tape to tape "to do lists" -- this is my first tip of you.

1. Stick to do lists where you can see
Write down all you have to do in the front of you planner. This way you have everything in one list. I have a work list and an personal/blog list. But you can for example make only one list and just use different color for all the activities you have. Physiologically, this is very good because when you start crossing things in your list, it gives you a sense of accomplishment and it makes you work more. It is also good to put important dates -- like tests or birthdays.

2. Mark the current date
Use a post-it note or a book marker to mark the page with the current date. This will save you time finding the page where we are it's hard and this way makes it easy. Just try not forget to keep changing the post-it' place every couple of days.

3. Highlight days-off
Use a highlighter -- you know, like florescent yellow markers -- to mark weekends,  holidays, vacations, days-off. This is awesome, because when you look at it you will notice it better and you'll be more excited about it!

4. Use stickers to mark birthdays
I always buy a bunch of stickers and put one on the top of the page and I write the name of the person write next to it. Usually the planners I get only have time slots and I never know where to make note of birthdays. This is a great way!

5. Use a clamp to keep important documents
I usual clamp to the plastic front any important papers i need to keep - receipts, doctor stuff, business cards, etc. This helps me not to have a lot of clutter in my bag and makes everything easy to find.

I hope you like my tips. And let me know in the comments if also do any of this. Also, if you have any cool tips - share them!!

Relationships

Being in a relationship is not easy.
Being in a relationship is to argue and still make two cups of coffee like you always do.
Being in a relationship is to play rock-paper-scissor to see who is taking the dog for a walk, at night, and to lose on purpose.
Being in a relationship is to have a fight right before going to bed and still fall a sleep cuddling.
Being in a relationship is to get out the door in the morning and call after two minutes because you forgot to say " I love you".

Being in a relationship is much more than just being in love.
Happy Anniversary ♥

Stuck In My Head | ... and in my heart! 100th Birthday Edit Piaf

If she was alive, Edit Piaf would be having her 100th birthday today, December 19th. I've heard that celebrations of this date are going to happen, specially in the neighborhood where she was born, Belleville - one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris because of the cultural diversity it houses. In fact, one of the bigger Parisian china-towns is the heart of this neighborhood.

Although she had a very successful career, her personal life was full of hard moments, and that is something that you can feel when you hear her very unique and distinguish voice. She died at the age of 47, but her songs are well a live in your hearts.

There are two songs that are absolutely amazing, deep and breathtaking and that really make me goose bumps every single time. And maybe they are the her most well known songs. If you don't know them, you should!

Non, Je ne regrette rien always reminds me that we should not regret any decision. That what happens happens, and that's life.

Non, Rien de rien / No, nothing of nothing
Non, Je ne regrette rien / No, I regret nothing
C'est payé, balayé, oublié / It's paid for, swept away, forgotten
Je me fous du passé / I don't care about the past

La vie em rose is just the most romantic song ever written. Reminds me of Paris and just walking along the Sene on a cold winter night holding hands with my special someone. I have a very special memory with this song in the background, at Île Saint-Louis. It's a very very special song to me.

Quand il me prend dans ses bras / When he takes me in his harms
Il me parle tout bas / He speaks to me in a low voice
Je vois la vie en rose / I see life in pink

Il me dit des mots d’amour / He tells me words of love
Des mots de tous les jours / Words of everyday
Et ça me fait quelque chose / And that does something to me

Joyeux anniversaire chérie. Nous vous tiendrons toujours dans nos coeurs!

My two favorite treats --- Nespresso and After Eight Mints! For me that's the perfect treat for a break, specially from work!

I'm an workaholic on speed | Rant

rant (rănt)To express at length a complaint or negative opinion

I'm sorry for the rant, but I just needed to take this out of my chest.

It's 1:26 am.
And only now I'm get home from work. I love my job, I really do, but I have a problem. I actually work. When I have a task I try to do have it finished as fast as possible. And of course, as soon as I am done with task number one, of course there's already something needed to be done. And I do it. Fast. And then I get another task, and another. and another. In the meanwhile I see my co-workers doing nothing. Or working really slowly. Having breaks every 30 min, going out for a cigarette. And when I need something from someone to finish one of my tasks --  which happens a lot, because I'm always ahead of them, you know because I don't spend all day checking my Facebook --  they have the nerve to say "We are still working on that..". And you know what happens?! Because I want to get my job done, and because I want it to be well done, I end up doing their job too.  And this happens everyday, every week, every month.

I feel like I end up working so much more than everyone else. And I'm so tired all the time. I know I love my job, but I'm starting to feel like I am a bit unappreciated there.

Braces | Week #3 Update + Insecurity Issues

So, three weeks have passed. Pain-wise, is nothing has changed. Same as last week. Oh, but I see A LOT of differences from before. It's working fast! Now my teeth look super weird... I have so much space between them.. It's crazy! And I haven't been to any adjustment appointment yet. I'm so impressed with the development! I'm still almost a month away from my next doctor appointment so yeah.

I think I've never talked about how I'm handling having braces and telling people that I have braces. And one week before having them I was very concerned about what people would say or think.
Generally I don't care about this type of stuff. And I try to overcome this type of thoughts. I try to embrace it --- see what I did there, embrace it, see see? lol.

At first, I didn't told anyone. In fact, the first time I shared that I was doing this was here. And you're good words of support helped me a lot! THANK YOU btw, you guys are awesome! So I told a couple of my closest friends. But when I am going to meet someone -- for work or just a friend -- I get super stressed. I'm like "How am I going to tell him? Should I? Or Should I just not mention it until they do?". What is strange is that I get more embarrassed when it comes to my close friends than to total strangers. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I almost canceled lunch yesterday with a friend because I was too embraced. I was afraid I was going to get food stuck in my teeth or.. I don't know! I know that we wouldn't make fun of me. I know that. But I was still feeling nervous. I took a deep breath and I went anyway. I decided that I would do what I always do and made make a joke about it -- hey, it's the best way to avoid insecurities for me, okey? -- When I got there I was like "heyy look at my new bling!" And he laugh and made fun of my baby-blue elastics. We also asked me a few questions that usually people ask me and that was it. I was so worried and it was fine. In the first week I tried not to talk that much, but to be honest most people don't even notice that I've gotten braces, if it wasn't for the blue elastics. I have a co-worker that I see every day that only noticed last Monday.

But yeah, I think this meme it totally right, and braces are just another fashion accessory that I have on now...permanently.. Hey, it's better than a tattoo! At least I can change it's colors once in a while :)

How do you battle insecurity?

Secret Christmas @ Um Refugio para a Vida

I'm one of the bloggers enrolled in the Secret Christmas event happening on Simple Girl's blog! It's a Secret Santa between 12 bloggers.  I think this is such an awesome idea! I'm super excited! And today I went and bought my gift for my secret blogger! Last night I think I've spent more than one hour digging into this blogger, trying to figure out what would be a good gift, something, what to buy... This is hard guys! It's hard to find a gift for someone you don't really know... The blog posts help, but still... I guess this is the whole point of a secret santa... figuring out what to buy, see the other person reaction to the gift, see what you got...

The thing is, I usually put A LOT of thought into the gifts I give. I don't like to receive shitty stuff, so of course I'm getting this person something that I like, and that I would be thrilled to get! And I also bought this super adorable little box to send it in! Isn't it just adorable?!

I'm so excited to see what I'm going to get!! I hope the blogger who's buying me a gift puts as much effort into it as I have! I'll be making a post about what I got obviously :)

Bad decisons...

Eating popcorn with braces.
I don't know what I had in mind but yeah. I think I'll have little pieces of popcorn stuck on my braces forever. Definitely not a smart move lol.

Must Watch | Easy Wrapping Hack

I've learned how to wrap presents like this a few years ago, and I have to tell you, it is the easiest way in the world to wrap a gift. The edges are always clean and neat, and you don't waste a ton of paper. And it's super fast once you get the hang of hit! Check the video --  they guy explains it really well.  If you learn it, I'll guarantee you you'll never go back to the old way of wrapping.

Christmas TAG

I haven't done a TAG in a while, so I decided to do a Christmas TAG. I've seen lots of versions of this particular TAG in very different blog, but this time I've decided to give it my own spin and create my own tag because I sometimes find this tags to be a bit childish so yeah -- This is the very fist tag I've created so bare with me! It is based on the tag created by Shiny Tears-- I think she created it anyway. But I saw it on the Be Yourself blog. The tag is Portuguese and English so you all can also do it! If you answer this tag, use my cute ornament on your post, and tag two other blogs! And of course, don't forget to give credits okey?

Questions/Perguntas
1. If you could spend Christmas Eve with anyone, who would it be?/ Se pudesses passar a noite de natal com alguém com quem seria?
Frank Sinatra -- if we was still alive -- and I would make him sing, all night long. I love his Christmas songs!

2. What's the weirdest gift you've ever received?/ Qual o presente mais estranho que já recebeste?
Once I received like a personal hygiene kit -- it had a toothpaste, a toothbrush, some shower gel from the supermarket, and some like super regular soap. It wasn't from any fancy or nice brand... I found it pretty weird. Was it a hint? Were they trying to tell me that a stink?! Until this day I have no freaking idea! I liked it very much! Thank you! But it was weird!

3. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or wait until Christmas Morning?/ Abres os presentes na noite de Natal ou esperas pela manhã?
When I was a kid, usually we would open the presents from the family at mid-night. Then we would go to sleep and Santa would come during the night and leave us some special presents near the fire place. Now that I'm all grown up, I don't do that any more. We open the gifts after dinner and that's it.

4. What's your all time favorite Christmas song(s)?/ Qual é/são a tua musica(s) de natal preferida?
Frank Sinatra's "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!", Santa Claus Is Coming to Town and White Christmas. Jazz is just perfect for Christmas.

5. What's your favorite Christmas treat?/ Qual é a tua guloseima/doce de natal preferida?
Candy-Canes and Gingerbread cookies -- I know this is not typical in Portugal. But that's what I grew up with ok?okay..

6. What do you usually eat on Christmas eves? And on Christmas day? / O que comes normalmente na noite de véspera de natal? E no dia de Natal?

On Christmas eve we usually have Roasted Turkey, smashed potatoes, green vegetables and gravy. On Christmas day, for lunch It would be roasted ham or some years the typical Portuguese Codfish. Yumms!

7. What are your favorite Christmas Drinks? Alcoholic (if your are allowed do drink alcohol of course!!) and Non-Alcoholic / Qual são as tuas bebidas de natal preferidas? Com álcool (se tens idade para beber, claro!!) e Não-Alcoólica.

Eggnog! With and without booze! And tea. Any tea. Oh and Hot Chocolate with baby marshmallows!

8. Do you go to church on Christmas eve?/ Vais a igreja na noite de natal?

No, I don't. My family is not religious so actually I've never been to church on Christmas eve or Christmas day.

9. Does your family has any cute/weird/unique family traditions around Christmas?/ A tua família tem alguma tradição gira/estranha/única que fazem perto do Natal?
The kids are always the "waiters" during the get together. If you want something, you'll ask a kid. Like if you want more ice, or if you want a piece of cake. You ask a kid and he will get it for you. This started because my grandparents used to say to the kids "it's you last chance to be a good boy!" and we would do anything to be good.

10. What is your best Christmas Memory?/ Qual é a tua melhor Memoria Natalícia?
When I was 5 I think and I saw a Santa Clause at the mall with a real beard, a real fat belly and believed it was the real Santa -- not one of his "assistants" that dress up like him, because I couldn't be in every mall at the same time! lol I remember how happy I felt. It was pretty awesome!

Anyone is free to do this, but I TAG:

Let's see those answers girls! :)

Stuck In My Head | Backstreet boys

If you were born in the 90's you know the lyrics of this song by heart. And every time it comes in the radio, you sing it and you oh yeah you SING-IT!

I used to love backstreet boys when I was younger -- in fact they were my favorite boy-band, And I still listen to them. And this song, in particular comes to my head very frequently, and when it does I'm singing it all day. It helps me go though my life and my problems. And I think that's what music is for. I truly think that One Song by The Backstreet Boys is better then the entire Justin Bieber and One Direction put together.

What's the one song that has helped you though some rough times?

Show me the meaning of being lonley
Is this the feeing I need to walk with?
Tell me why I can't be there where you are
There's something missing in my heart

Weird Habits | I hate dead skin

I am obsessed with exfoliating my skin. I know that there are a million different kinds of soap that clean your skin very very well but I'm still pretty obsessed with the idea of scraping dead skin off of my body -- let's face it, it's disgusting, ok? okey... I use multiple exfoliation tools including shower poufs, scrubby gloves and exfoliating body-washes. And I have to do this in every time I shower  -- which is every day -- or else I won't feel clean.

I also have a different soaps for different parts of my body. But that's a whole different subject...

Braces | Week #2 Update

Not much have changed since last week. Pain -- zero. Except when I hit my front teeth with something when I'm eating -- a glass, a fork. It sounds weird but it happens me a lot. Probably it happens to you too, you just don't notice because it doesn't hurt you.

Chewing is now normal. The only thing that really annoys me is not being able to bit. Bread and  cookies, for example, I have to break it into bite-size portions with my hands and eat it like that. Also, food is still getting stuck in my braces all the time. I guess that's no going to change. Specially in the back of my mouth. It looks like I'm saving some for later. Lol it's not fun, it' disgusting! At least my Colgate Portable Kit has been very very useful -- read more about it here! I really use it all the time. I bought it at a Continente and it only costed 3.99€. And yes, now I'm one of those persons that immediately goes to the bathroom and brushes their teeth after eating. And after having coffee. Or a chocolate. I don't want to get my teeth stained ok? Okey...

Do you like to read about this? Or is it boring? I feel like this is not very interesting, but let me know in the comments if you relate to this. If you passed to the same things or if it was totally different!

Once again, thank you for all your kind words ♥ I really appreciate it!

Stuck In My Head | Every day is a holiday!

Katy Perry's song from her new H&M Christmas Commercial.
I have been singing it all the freaking time.

We don't need a thing under the tree
You're giving me all I need

When you're the reason to celebrate

Trying to have a relaxing afternoon when...

I have been having a really rough couple of weeks at work. I have been working a lot, even at home after leaving the office. So today I took today's afternoon off. I was -- still am -- in need of some stress-free quality time. We all need it sometimes.
I had a plan for today -- I decided that I was going for a run in a park -- something that I LOVE to do but I'm a bit to scared to do it at night which is when I have time to do it. After working out I wanted to pamper my self with a nice long hot shower -- it would be a bath but I don't have a bathtub -- and then go out to dinner, have some drinks, get a little bit tipsy and forget all my stupid work problems. This is -- was -- the plan.

So I went to a park near where my house. I ran for maybe 45 min and then I wanted to do some abs and squats. In this park there are those like outdoorsy workout machines -- you know what I'm talking about, right? One of them is to do abs. And I wanted to use that one. But one of the sides was broken and on the other side there was a lady sitting on it reading a magazine. Like that thing was a bench. Oh god that's when everything went wrong... I asked her politely if I could use the machine and she said with a very strong African accent "aaah, no I'm sitting here". Of course I answered very politely again " I am sorry but you are not using it for what is for so maybe you could just let me use it for 10 min and sit there in the bench" And I pointed out the bench that was right next to the machine, which had an old lady sitting on but it there was definitely enough space for the two. And she replied "All the benches are occupied". Yes it was true but that's not to sit on, and she could share a bench. I calmly explained her that. And she continued to say that she wouldn't get up.

In the meanwhile, a gentleman that was also running noticed the situation and stopped.  And was like in the background listening to the conversation, and he just got annoyed and started telling her exactly what I was saying but in a more assertive tone. The old lady that was sitting on the bench even offered to move to another bench so that the stupid lady could move. And still she was saying she was there first. At this point I didn't want to use the machine anymore,  I was completely pissed. So was the gentlemen. So he started to tell her somethings that I found it to be a little bit racist and rude. He said that she came from Africa and that's a jungle. They don't know how to live within a civilized society and that if she doesn't want to respect others she should go back to her country. And then he said -- I'm gonna call my son, he's a policeman. I don't know if she thought he was bluffing,  but he called his son. And it took him two minutes to get there. And even with the police there she was saying. "I was already sitting here reading my magazine,  I don't have to get up because they want to". And the police officer had the exact same talk with her that we both had. And he got mad with the lady's stupidity and asked her for her documents. And guess what.. she is an illegal immigrant. Her visa was a tourist visa from 3 years ago. So he took her. And he is going to press charges for public disturbance and refusing a police order!

This is just insane and stupid and It stressed me out so so much. If she had just get up for 10 min, this could all been avoided..

My stress-free afternoon did not had a good start. Let's see how the rest of the evening goes.

I hope you'll have a great Friday :)

Braces | Week #1 Update

My first week with braces is over. It has been a rough week, thankfully I have been super busy and I haven't had time to complain or to deal with it too much.

Let's start with the good stuff. I can already see differences! Actually I could see them after just two days! I wasn't expecting it to work so fast. Now, I have a small gap between my front teeth. When I floss, the string enters the space between my teeth like butter -- no resistance at all --  and this didn't used to happen. My teeth were completely stuck together. I have to admit, this is super impressive!

Unfortunately,  I have way more bad comments to make. First, it is super hard to eat. I have been eating soup and baby-food all week because it is super hard to chew. My front teeth hurt if I even touch them slightly and it is impossible for me to bite. My back teeth have the rings that hold everything together and when I -- try to -- chew, the rings get pressed into my gum and it hurts a bit. Also, I keep hurting and cutting my tong in a metal thing that is stuck to the ring but on the inside -- near my tong. Over all I can say that the pain have been decreasing but it's still uncomfortable. Most of you said that with time I'll become more used to it. -- fingers crossed!

Oh and let'snot forget the mess. Food gets stuck in the brackets. All the time. And its disgusting. I have to clean my teeth right after every meal. Oh yeah, and brushing is a very complex process now. It takes me at least 10 to 15 min to have everything properly clean. I brush my teeth like I would normally do, then each individual bracket and I use an intra-dental brush to clean behind the wire. Plus floss, mouth wash and gum-gel. I know I am a bit obsessed when it comes to self-hygiene, but a I have to be sure that every single inch is clean, and that I don't have any disgusting little piece of food stuck in my mouth. I've set an appointment with my dental hygienist to see if I am doing what I'm supposed to do but it's only in January. Any tips on this subject?

I also want to thank you all for you nice works, tips and support! Thank you :)

Stuck in my head | Mountains

I love this song so so much. I've heard it a million times on the radio but only today I've realized that it is from two Portuguese singers. I'm so impressed.Uau.

If only you knew that your words can
They can move a mountain
You’re changing my world when you’re smiling
And I can’t live without it
